WHO IS HELPP?
HELPP (Helpp Ease Local People’s Pain) is an organization created by 7 local people seeing a two-fold need within the community. First, being 2 ½ hours from any major medical facility, emergency travel costs can create additional stress to an already stressful situation. They wanted to be able to provide immediate assistance to take away some of that burden. Second, local donors were looking for a way to be able to make tax deductible monetary donations where 100% of their donation stays local to help local families and friends in need. HELPP has proven that they successfully meet both of those needs and more!
HELPP’s mission is to respond to residents and/or workers in the community of Warroad, within the area of School District #690, who are undergoing personal financial emergencies and hardships due to illness, house fire or other serious difficulty.
WHO IS THE STAFF AT HELPP?
The HELPP staff consists of 7 Board members. All members are volunteers so we’re able to keep our administration costs to a minimum. These small costs are usually covered by Board member donations so 100% of all other donations go directly into our gift card fund.
WHAT IS THE BOARD’S DUTY?
- To evaluate applications and approve or deny them based on our mission and qualifications.
- To distribute agreed upon assistance to approved applicants.
- To procure funds to aid in the HELPP mission and to ensure legitimacy, stability and longevity.
